For beginners

Beginner Course: Learn Bridge from Scratch

Would you like to learn bridge? In the BCO beginner course you start with no prior knowledge – step by step, at a calm pace.

The course in a short video

Bridge cannot be learned in a single evening – but anyone can learn it. The course builds up systematically: the rules, bidding and the most important conventions. By the end you will play your first complete games.

Bridge is regarded as the supreme discipline among card games and is played by around 60 million people worldwide. Unlike many card games, luck is not decisive: every pair plays the same cards – what counts is tactics and teamwork. Bridge is recognised as a sport, suitable for every age and an effective workout for memory and concentration.

After the course you move into regular club play via the supervised games.

A game of concentration, strategy and connection

Bridge is a partnership game for four players. It combines logical thinking, memory, communication and tactics – and remains fascinating even after many years.

At the Bridge Club Oberland you meet people who enjoy a demanding game and at the same time value a personal, respectful club culture.

Already play bridge? Then sign up for a Monday or Wednesday tournament directly via Nuudel – guests are welcome. Would you like to learn bridge? Then our beginner course is the right way in.

Why bridge?
  • Trains concentration and combinative thinking
  • Combines strategy with partnership
  • Is not a game of chance – skill and experience count
  • Stays mentally challenging and can be learned for life
  • Is played internationally and across generations
